Being a native of western North Carolina, I feel that my subconscious is finely tuned to the gentle rhythms of nature.  Although life has dictated that I live in diverse environments,  I find a stronger connection to the spiritual when surrounded by nature and aspire to express that in my work.  The strong contrasts in the northern NM  landscape, the dynamic light, and atmospheric conditions are reflected in my work as I am drawn to spiritually romantic themes. I hope that my work will enable the viewer to sense a higher connection  to the spiritual that is so often lost in the stresses of daily life.
